Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent is set to travel to Malaysia, Japan, and South Korea alongside President Donald J. Trump.

During his visit to Malaysia, Secretary Bessent will meet with Vice Premier He Lifeng of the People’s Republic of China to discuss trade relations between the United States and China. In addition, he will attend the 47th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit in Kuala Lumpur.

In Japan, Secretary Bessent will join President Trump during a state visit in Tokyo.

While in South Korea, Secretary Bessent will take part in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) South Korea 2025 Forum in Gyeongju.

“While in Malaysia, Secretary Bessent will meet with Vice Premier He Lifeng of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) to discuss trade between the United States and China. He will also participate in the 47th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit in Kuala Lumpur.”
