Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent held a meeting with Qatari Finance Minister Ahmed al Kuwari to discuss key issues between their countries. During the conversation, Secretary Bessent emphasized the importance of the economic, investment, and national security relationship shared by Qatar and the United States. He expressed his desire to strengthen these ties during his term.

In addition to bilateral relations, regional developments were also on the agenda. Secretary Bessent highlighted the significance of collaboration in addressing Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile activities. He pointed out that cooperation is crucial in countering support for terrorism that poses a threat to regional stability.

“Secretary Bessent underscored the strong economic, investment, and national security ties between Qatar and the United States,” an official statement noted. The discussion aimed at reinforcing these aspects while addressing broader concerns impacting both nations.
