Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent met with United Arab Emirates Minister of State for Financial Affairs H.E. Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini on April 15 in Washington.

The meeting focused on recent missile strikes by Iran against the United Arab Emirates and their potential impact on regional stability and energy markets.

Bessent expressed solidarity with the UAE following the attacks, saying that the United States aims to deter future attacks and ensure that energy markets are not further affected by actions from Iran. The two officials also discussed strategies for maintaining maximum pressure against Iran.

The discussion comes amid ongoing concerns about security in the region and its effect on global energy supplies. Both sides emphasized cooperation to address these challenges.

Looking ahead, U.S. officials say they will continue working closely with partners in the region to promote stability and prevent further escalation.
