Treasury Department to discuss payments fraud at upcoming FLEC public meeting

The U.S. Department of the Treasury will hold a public meeting of the Financial Literacy and Education Commission (FLEC) on September 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM Eastern Time. The meeting will be chaired by Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent and will take place in person.

The main topics to be discussed are payments fraud and federal agency efforts related to Executive Order 14247, which focuses on modernizing payments to and from America’s bank account. The event will include panel discussions addressing national trends in payments fraud.

A live webcast of the open session will be available for those who wish to follow the proceedings remotely.

“Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Scott Bessent,” is scheduled to lead the commission’s public meeting.
