Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent met with Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko in Washington on October 14, 2025. During the meeting, Secretary Bessent reaffirmed U.S. support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and expressed commitment to achieving a lasting peace.

Bessent thanked Svyrydenko for her continued support of the U.S.-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund and highlighted the importance of ongoing engagement between the two countries as part of their partnership.

The Secretary also reiterated that the United States is committed to working with G7 partners to increase pressure on Russia. He emphasized that European allies should intensify efforts not only against Russia but also against any nation financing Russia’s war through oil purchases.
