The Federal Reserve Board has announced it will host a conference focused on payments innovation on Tuesday, October 21. The event aims to bring together stakeholders from across the financial sector to discuss ways to enhance and modernize the payments system.
"Innovation has been a constant in payments to meet the changing needs of consumers and businesses," said Governor Christopher J. Waller. "I look forward to examining the opportunities and challenges of new technologies, bringing together ideas on how to improve the safety and efficiency of payments, and hearing from those helping to shape the future of payments."
The conference agenda includes panel discussions covering topics such as the merging of traditional finance with decentralized finance models, use cases for stablecoins, business models emerging in this space, how artificial intelligence is impacting payment systems, and developments in tokenizing financial products and services.
The Payments Innovation Conference will be available via livestream for public viewing at federalreserve.gov. Further information about speakers and sessions will be released at a later date.
