IBM and Scuderia Ferrari HP have released a new mobile application designed to enhance the experience of Formula 1 fans worldwide. This app, now available in both English and Italian, aims to provide an immersive connection to Formula 1 races, teams, and drivers, particularly for the 400 million global fans known as Tifosi.
The app introduces a new "Race Centre" and "Racing Insights" constructed with IBM's watsonx AI. Key features include AI-generated race summaries and post-race insights that offer dynamic visualizations of driver and car data. The app's functionalities extend to historical comparisons and analyses of Scuderia Ferrari HP's past milestones.
IBM and Ferrari have introduced new interactive features. These include fan messages that allow users to communicate directly with the team, daily interactive fan polls on various topics related to Scuderia Ferrari HP, and race summaries of Ferrari's notable victories through the years.
According to Jonathan Adashek, IBM's Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications, the collaboration with Ferrari is centered around "progress, innovation and excellence." He stated that the app uses AI to bring fans closer to the team whether it's during the race weekend or not.
Lorenzo Giorgetti, Chief Racing Revenue Officer for Ferrari, emphasized the digital experience crafted by the app and the use of IBM's AI technology. "With IBM's cutting-edge AI technology... we are creating a digital experience worthy of the Ferrari name," Giorgetti commented.
Further app features are expected to release throughout 2025, enhancing the racing season's appeal and the digital fan experience. Fans can download the Scuderia Ferrari app from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
