Today, Secretary of the Treasury Scott K.H. Bessent had a meeting with the Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Jordan, Dr. Jafar Hassan, in Washington. The meeting served as an opportunity for Secretary Bessent to reaffirm the strong economic and security relationship that exists between the United States and Jordan.

During the discussions, Secretary Bessent expressed his satisfaction with the enduring connection between the two nations. He acknowledged the critical role played by the Prime Minister in addressing economic issues within the Jordanian government. “The Secretary thanked the Prime Minister for his leadership on critical economic issues within the Government of Jordan and expressed the United States’ firm support for Jordan’s continued economic reforms.”

The meeting concluded with the United States reinforcing its commitment to Jordan's ongoing economic reforms.
