Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada has introduced a new AI-powered tool called "The Intelligent Companion" to enhance the customer experience for the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander. Launched on March 5, 2025, this innovation was developed in collaboration with WongDoody and IBM, utilizing the IBM watsonx portfolio of AI products.
The tool offers a personalized, interactive 3D visual guide to the vehicle's features, aiming to improve customer engagement during the purchasing process. "The Intelligent Companion" is built with IBM watsonx Orchestrate and watsonx.ai, which are designed for building and managing AI agents and assistants. This allows it to handle large amounts of data and provide natural, conversational responses.
Steve Carter, Marketing Director at Mitsubishi Motors Canada, stated: "The Intelligent Companion represents a major leap forward in customer engagement, offering a tailored experience that highlights the best features of the Mitsubishi Outlander 2025."
Ralf Gehrig from WongDoody commented on the project's rapid development: "Bringing this project to life at such speed and scale is a testament to the power of AI and global collaboration."
Matt Sanchez from IBM added: "With the watsonx portfolio, clients can swiftly and efficiently integrate generative AI into their operations."
Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada supports its dealerships across Canada with a team based in Mississauga, Ontario. The company employs over 2,100 people.
