Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland outlines mission during President Hammack's speech

President Hammack delivered a speech in Lexington, Kentucky, on February 11, 2025. The event highlighted the efforts of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland to support the economy and communities across its district. The Cleveland Fed is one of 12 regional Reserve Banks that, along with the Board of Governors in Washington DC, form part of the US central bank.

The Cleveland Fed's responsibilities include participating in national monetary policy formulation, supervising banking organizations, providing payment services to financial institutions and the US Treasury, and supporting community well-being through research and educational activities. It operates branches in Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, serving Ohio, western Pennsylvania, eastern Kentucky, and northern West Virginia.

The institution aims to inform the public about economic conditions such as inflation and employment while ensuring financial stability. Its mission extends to educating individuals about economic basics and offering resources for further learning.
