Litmus Music acquires Randy Newman's catalog including Disney film scores

Litmus Music has announced a creative partnership with Randy Newman, acquiring his share of recorded music and publishing rights. The deal covers Newman's work on Disney film franchises such as Toy Story, Cars, Monsters Inc., and The Princess and the Frog. It also includes his hits from the 1970s and 1980s like "I Love L.A." and "Mama Told Me Not To Come."

This agreement follows Litmus Music's recent deals with artists like Katy Perry, benny blanco, and Keith Urban. Co-Founder Dan McCarroll stated, “Randy Newman is a unique and brilliant songwriter... We couldn’t be more proud and excited to acquire Randy’s catalog.”

Hank Forsyth, another Co-Founder at Litmus Music, added that Newman's music continues to transcend time. Alex Popov from Carlyle emphasized the significance of partnering with leading artists to promote iconic catalogs.

Newman began his career in the 1960s and has composed for numerous films since the 1980s. His accolades include seven Grammys, three Emmys, two Academy Awards, and induction into both the Songwriters Hall of Fame and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Carlyle supports this partnership by offering financial solutions for partners in sports, media, and entertainment sectors.
