Secretary Yellen Testifies Before House Committee on Economic Recovery and Fiscal Policies

Secretary of the Treasury Janet L. Yellen outlined key proposals in the President's Budget aimed at strengthening the economy, reducing the deficit, and supporting working families. She mentioned, "The President’s Budget proposes additional investments to lower costs for workers and families and strengthen our economy while reducing the deficit."

Furthermore, Yellen detailed the administration's plans to make strategic investments while decreasing the deficit through a mix of savings and tax initiatives. She explained, "We can make these investments while reducing the deficit by $3 trillion over a decade through a combination of smart savings and tax proposals."
