900+ Toys and 150+ Coats Donated to Local Orgs As Part of Columbia Community Service Winter Drives

Columbia Community Service (CCS) recently concluded its 25th Annual Toy Drive and Winter Coat Drive, and the results are impressive. The community came together during the busy holiday season to support these beloved traditions, and the generosity shown was overwhelming.

A total of 988 toys were donated to CCS grantees organizing toy distribution. This represents a significant increase of 112% compared to the previous year. The toys will be distributed to organizations such as Advancing the Community of Tomorrow, Association to Benefit the Children, Cathedral Community Cares, Church of the Ascension, Graham Windham, NYC Kidsfest, Harlem Congregation for Community Improvement, and Uptown Inner City League. It is truly incredible to see the impact that these donations will have on the lives of children in need.

"We are grateful to everyone who donated toys as part of the 25th Annual CCS Toy Drive," expressed a spokesperson from CCS. "The support from the Columbia community has been overwhelming, and we are thrilled to be able to deliver these toys to our partner organizations."

In addition to the toy drive, a total of 162 coats and winter gear items were collected to be put to use in the community by Cathedral Community Cares. Facilities and Operations played a vital role in collecting these donations, with their Clean + Go Green event accounting for the majority of contributions.

"We would like to extend a special thanks to our friends in Facilities and Operations for their tremendous support," said the spokesperson. "Their involvement has made a significant difference in the success of the coat drive."

The impact of these donations cannot be understated. They will provide warmth and comfort to individuals in need during the winter season. The Columbia community is once again demonstrating its commitment to helping those less fortunate and making a positive difference in the lives of others.

As the winter drives come to a close, the CCS appeals to the community to continue their support through the 77th CCS Annual Appeal. Donations of any amount are essential in supporting local nonprofits that provide crucial services such as food relief, clothing, and educational opportunities for youth.

"We ask that you continue in the spirit of support that has been shown during the toy drive and coat drive," urged the spokesperson. "Your contributions, no matter the amount, make a significant impact and help us make a difference in our community."

The success of the 25th Annual Columbia Community Service Toy Drive and CCS Coat Drive is a testament to the generosity and compassion of the Columbia community. The donations of toys and winter gear will bring joy and warmth to those who need it the most. Columbia can be proud of the difference it is making in the lives of its neighbors and the community as a whole.

"Thank you, Columbia," concluded the spokesperson. "You make us proud to be a part of this community."
