U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent released a statement in response to the Senate’s approval of the Fiscal Year 2025 Budget Resolution. This resolution aims to advance permanent Trump tax cuts.

“Congress is taking smart action to strengthen America’s economy and repeal wasteful government spending,” Bessent stated.

He indicated that the advancement of this resolution by the Senate serves as a significant message to small businesses and working families. “By advancing this budget resolution, the Senate sends a strong signal to every small business and every working family: President Trump’s economic agenda will provide long-term tax certainty,” he commented.

Bessent also expressed his eagerness to collaborate with House leadership to complete the process. “I look forward to working with House leadership to finish this crucial first step and unlock legislation that strengthens our economic and fiscal foundations.”
