Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent met with Rachel Reeves, Chancellor of the Exchequer of the United Kingdom, on January 12 to discuss joint economic interests between the United States and the UK. The agenda included cooperation on critical minerals, financial regulation, and trade policy.
During the meeting, Secretary Bessent addressed follow-up actions after the recent finance ministerial focused on critical minerals. Both officials also exchanged updates regarding progress made by the U.S.-UK Transatlantic Taskforce for Markets of the Future.
The meeting underscores ongoing collaboration between both countries in areas such as resource security and regulatory alignment.
