U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent has commented on the recent reconciliation vote by the House Ways & Means Committee. The committee successfully passed legislation that aligns with President Trump’s economic agenda.

In his statement, Secretary Bessent highlighted the progress made by House Republicans. He said, “Today, House Republicans continued strong progress toward enacting President Trump’s economic agenda and preventing historic tax hikes on families and businesses.”

Bessent emphasized the unified effort of the Republican Party to foster economic growth while reducing costs nationwide. He stated, “The President’s plan for prosperity is in full swing as a unified Republican Party works to drive economic growth while lowering costs from coast to coast.”

Furthermore, Bessent pointed out the collaborative efforts between Treasury and Congress aimed at solidifying the 2017 Trump tax cuts. He remarked, “Treasury and Congress are partners in the effort to make the 2017 Trump tax cuts permanent while enacting new measures to keep more money in the pockets of hardworking Americans.”
