Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent has announced the appointment of Michael Friedman as Chief of Staff at the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

Friedman previously worked at the White House as Special Assistant to the President for Presidential Personnel, where he was involved in staffing efforts during the Trump Administration. He also has experience in senior leadership roles at supply chain technology and e-commerce startups.

Friedman is originally from New York City. He holds a law degree from Harvard Law School and a bachelor’s degree in finance from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
