Kinetic Advantage partners with Carlyle to expand automotive floorplan financing

Kinetic Advantage, an independent provider of automotive floorplan financing, has announced a strategic investment from Carlyle, a global investment firm. The partnership includes a multi-year forward flow commitment, which will support Kinetic in expanding its origination of automotive floorplan financing for dealers in the United States.

Kinetic Advantage, established in 2020 and supported by Altamont Capital Partners, serves independent automotive dealers nationwide. The company funds vehicle purchases from various sources, such as auto auctions, trade platforms, and other wholesale venues.

The transaction was managed by Carlyle Asset-Backed Finance (Carlyle ABF), which operates within Carlyle’s Global Credit platform and focuses on private fixed income and asset-backed investments. Since 2021, Carlyle ABF has deployed about $8.5 billion and managed more than $9.5 billion in assets as of June 30, 2025.
