The Federal Reserve Bank of New York has announced the appointment of John B. Gibson to its Second District Advisory Council. This appointment is effective immediately.

The council, consisting of senior business leaders, convenes three times annually to offer insights on business and economic conditions in the Second District to the New York Fed President and leadership. Members serve for three-year terms, with the next meeting scheduled for February 2025.

Gibson is currently the president and CEO of Paychex, a company specializing in benefits, human resources, and payroll services based in Rochester, New York. He became CEO in 2022 after serving as president and chief operating officer for one year. Gibson joined Paychex in 2013 as senior vice president of service. His career includes senior roles at AT&T and Convergys, where he led the human resources management division. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University.
