U.S. Small Business Administration Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman took part in a panel discussion Aug. 16 in Denver. The event was hosted by Principal, a global financial company and a member of the SBA’s Small Business Digital Alliance, according to an Aug. 18 news release.

“Today’s business environment underscores the significance of digital solutions for small enterprises – they translate into increased footfall, operational efficiencies, and the potential to cultivate a robust workforce, all of which are pivotal for success,” Guzman said in the release. “The SBA is enthusiastic about its collaboration with the Small Business Digital Alliance to empower entrepreneurs with technology, thus fostering job creation and economic opportunity.”

Before the panel session,  Guzman engaged with Business Forward and Principal executives, and her introduction was conducted by Jim Doyle, president of Business Forward. Subsequently, Guzman engaged in a dialogue with small business proprietors, under the guidance of Amy Friedrich, president of benefits and protection at Principal, the release reported.

During the panel, participants delved into the transformative impact of the digital landscape on small businesses and how collaborative efforts like the SBDA can foster entrepreneurial endeavors, according to the release.

“Small business owners frequently highlight their demanding schedules,” Friedrich said in the release. “In recent years, businesses have risen to challenges by incorporating digital tools and technology into their operations, enhancing their ability to connect with customers and manage their ventures efficiently. Collaborative efforts between public and private sectors, exemplified by the SBDA, play a pivotal role in promoting solutions that facilitate employers’ access to growth-enabling tools, talent attraction, retention and overall resilience.”

The Small Business Digital Alliance brings companies, influences and other major players in the e-commerce technology arena to assist small businesses and help them connect with needed resources and reach a new customer base with training, tools and digital network expansion, the release reported. It is a joint initiative co-sponsored by SBA and Business Forward.
