The Federal Reserve Board has released the minutes from its meetings held on August 18 and September 17, 2025. These meetings focused on reviewing and determining the discount rates available to depository institutions through the discount window.
The Board noted that the procedure for setting the discount rate is separate from the process used by the Federal Open Market Committee to establish the target range for the federal funds rate.
