The Federal Reserve Board has approved the application submitted by Renasant Corporation, based in Tupelo, Mississippi. This approval allows Renasant Corporation to merge with The First Bancshares. Consequently, Renasant will indirectly acquire The First Bank, which is located in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

This decision was announced on Friday and marks a significant step for both financial institutions involved.
