Federal Reserve approves Huntington Bancshares’ acquisition of Veritex Holdings

The Federal Reserve Board has approved the application by Huntington Bancshares Incorporated, based in Columbus, Ohio, to acquire Veritex Holdings, Inc. This acquisition will also include Veritex Community Bank, both located in Dallas, Texas.

“The Federal Reserve Board on Friday announced its approval of the application by Huntington Bancshares Incorporated, of Columbus, Ohio, to acquire Veritex Holdings, Inc., and thereby indirectly acquire Veritex Community Bank, both of Dallas, Texas,” according to the official statement.

This decision allows Huntington Bancshares to expand its presence into the Texas banking market through the acquisition of Veritex Holdings and its subsidiary bank.
