The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has announced the appointment of Dana T. Wade as Deputy to the Chairman and Chief of Staff, following approval by its Board of Directors. In her new position, Wade will advise the Acting Chairman on various agency matters, assist in managing daily operations, and oversee all divisions and offices within the FDIC.
Wade brings nearly 20 years of experience in financial policy across both public and private sectors. She previously served as Commissioner of the Federal Housing Administration and Assistant Secretary of Housing at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Most recently, she was an executive at the Peter J. Peterson Foundation.
Her background also includes senior roles at the Office of Management and Budget and work with four Congressional Committees, such as serving as Deputy Staff Director for the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, and as a senior advisor to the U.S. House Committee on Financial Services. Additionally, Wade has worked as a senior executive for a commercial real estate finance company.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Georgetown University and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
