The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland is set to host an online webinar on January 16, 2025, focusing on the economic outlook for the year. The event will feature Edward Knotek, the Research Director at the Cleveland Fed, who will provide insights into various economic indicators including consumer spending, labor market trends, and inflation.

“We produce indicators and datasets to inform the public, policymakers, and researchers about economic conditions, including inflation, employment, and risks to the financial system,” a statement from the bank reads. This commitment underscores their role in gathering information across Ohio and parts of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Kentucky.

The bank emphasizes its dedication to serving both local communities and those nationwide by providing valuable resources that aid in understanding economic basics and addressing significant issues. “Our research informs the public and policymakers by examining economic issues of importance to those in our local communities, across the nation, and around the world.”

As part of their mission to support American consumers’ financial security and maintain financial stability for the US Treasury, they also offer educational resources. “We supervise financial institutions, support American consumers’ financial security, and maintain the financial stability and payment systems for the US Treasury.”

Knotek’s presentation aims to offer a comprehensive view of current economic conditions while allowing attendees to engage with questions following his address. The event is scheduled from 3:00–4:00 PM ET.
