The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, in conjunction with its Center for Inflation Research, is organizing a session titled “Examining the Effects of Tariffs on the Economy.” This event is part of their Conversations on Central Banking series and is scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 29th, 2025, from 11:00 to 11:45 AM Eastern.

This initiative aims to provide insights into economic conditions by producing indicators and datasets that inform the public, policymakers, and researchers about key economic factors such as inflation, employment, and financial system risks. The Cleveland Fed emphasizes its role in gathering information from the Fourth Federal Reserve District, which includes Ohio and parts of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Kentucky. These efforts are intended to benefit not only local communities but also those across the nation.

The Cleveland Fed supports American consumers’ financial security and maintains financial stability and payment systems for the US Treasury. As part of the US central bank system, it studies economic conditions affecting communities while offering educational resources aimed at enhancing economic understanding.

“Learn economic basics,” they encourage. They also invite individuals to “dive into inflation” through various educational resources and games available for personal use or sharing with others.
