Carlyle Europe Technology Partners (CETP) and Rabo Investments have announced a strategic growth investment in SurePay, a company specializing in payment verification software. Founded within Rabobank in 2016, SurePay is headquartered in the Netherlands and serves financial institutions and corporates across Europe and the UK. The company offers products such as IBAN-name check, Confirmation-of-Payee (CoP), Verification-of-Payee (VOP), and Fraud Risk Indicator (FRI) to reduce fraudulent payments.

David-Jan Janse, CEO of SurePay, expressed enthusiasm about Carlyle’s involvement: “We are thrilled to welcome Carlyle as a strategic partner for the next stage of our journey.” He acknowledged the contributions of previous partners Connected Capital and Iris Capital since 2021.

Constantin Boye from Carlyle commented on SurePay’s impact: “SurePay is a mission-critical payment verification solutions provider with a powerful combination of proven technology and deep relationships across the European and UK banking ecosystem.”

Floris Onvlee, Director at Rabo Investments, praised SurePay’s development: “Since its founding within Rabobank, SurePay has been developed to meet the highest possible financial services quality standards with best-in-class platform reliability, scalability, and security.”

The investment aims to expand SurePay’s services geographically while maintaining high service reliability for its customers. Carlyle is investing through its CETP V fund, which focuses on growth-stage technology businesses across Europe.
